System overview

A wind turbine works the opposite of a fan. Instead of using electricity to make wind, like a fan, wind turbines use wind to make electricity. The wind turns the blades, which spin a shaft, which connects to a generator and makes electricity. This electricity is stored in the battery for later use.

                        Functions of different components

Wind Turbine: Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. This mechanical power can be used for specific tasks like a generator that can convert this mechanical power into electricity.
Inverter: DC (12V/24V) loads are connected straight to the controller.  However, AC loads needs conversion of DC into AC which is done by an inverter.  It is recommended nevertheless to connect inverter to the controller if load is not very high.

Batteries: Reservoirs of charge current that is being produced by wind turbines, batteries are connected in combination of series or parallel to match the system voltage.  Apex stocks batteries from 7Amps to 415Amps in different voltages.
Reliability: Provided the site chosen has abundant wind source, the wind power can become a primary or even only source of power.  The mechanical construction of the turbine and the generator is quite rigid making it last for a long time.  With No battery system, it can become a very reliable system.  Batteries of extremely goods quality can last 5-7 years before needing replacement.
Viability: Wind energy is one of the lowest-priced renewable energy technologies available today, costing between 4 and 6 cents per kilowatt-hour, depending upon the wind resource and project financing of the particular project.
